One last comment here - one might look to other periods for guidance - and
consider such things as movement-image - thinking of everything from
Diorama to early film experiments - things which might be classified as
the _optical_ - still under development and extension in the caves for
example. I'm uncomfortable with the 'binary' - although this underlies a
great deal of work, it doesn't underlie all of it. Certainly those
experimenting with the new analog Moogs are working in _some_ area of new
media?

It also might sound stupid - but in terms of _sensory modes,_ there's
been, at least in performance/computation, little progress beyond sight
and sound - for taste/dildonics(forget tele- for the moment)/smell/touch
(forget resistive joysticks for the moment)/etc., analog is still
integral.

I'm reminded of Anthony Wilden's work on the phenomenology of analog and
digital in the 70s System and Structure - I wish someone would update this
work -
